Withstanding Emotional Challenges in Your Business

What is Emotional Endurance?

It’s the art of withstanding the emotional challenges associated with being an independent business owner.  Think about your last week in business.  Did everything go just as you planned?  Of course it didn’t, because life happens.

Dealing with fear, overcoming obstacles and leaving your comfort zone are just a few of the issues you face on a day to day basis.  If you are not equipped to deal with these issues, your emotional endurance level may be low.  Without emotional endurance, you begin to struggle, focusing on the negative, getting stuck or quitting altogether.

So how do you build your emotional endurance?
Two success tips:

One –    Become brave and courageous by being willing to step out into the unknown.
Take ACTION – make your phone calls, call your clients for referrals, whatever needs to be done – just do it!.  Take daily action on your goal and you will become a brave entrepreneur.

Two –  Develop confidence in who you are today.  As an entrepreneur, confidence does not come from a title, as in the corporate world.   It comes from within. If you are just starting your business, and the profits aren’t rolling in yet, the misnomer is that financial rewards alone will develop your confidence, but this is not true.  You cannot take action only if you make a large income.  Start developing your confidence by believing in yourself. This is the core of confidence.

Coaching question:  When you act brave, how does that impact your business?

Strategy:   Use the  ACT AS IF principle – ACT AS IF you are already brave and confident.

Obstacle Buster- Interview Series – LaDonna Brock

How to Become an Obstacle Buster Interview Series – Host Warren Wandling takes you behind the scenes to get to know a variety of leaders and the keys to their success.  Discover how Leaders Overcome their Obstacles to achieve success.  In this episode, Warren introduces you to LaDonna Brock.

Motivational and Inspirational Speaker, Direct Selling Leader

In 1995 LaDonna Brock was left paralyzed from the waist down by a self-inflicted, accidental gunshot wound, but it certainly has not paralyzed her tenacious love for life.  For the past 15 years she has been speaking in high schools and middle schools, churches and to various civic groups about trauma prevention through a national program called Think First – Use Your Mind To Protect Your Body.

LaDonna has also had a direct sales business and been a leader in Celebrating Home for the past 12 years.  Although she expected to do every party in her home, which was accessible, she has instead gone wherever her hostesses invited her, including to homes in other states.  She’s never had the attitude of being paralyzed; never looked at the situations as obstacles, but instead as opportunities; never had an ‘I can’t’ or ‘I quit’ attitude; never thought she could do any less than what she put her mind – and heart – to do.

Her heart is in making a difference.  Whether forever changing the life of a child by helping them realize the power in their choices – be it day to day – buckle up or wear your helmet – or planning for their future with career or college decisions; or helping a young mother realize there is a way for her to help with the family income and still be a stay at home mom; or help the retired senior realize there is a way to have additional income in ways that go beyond the door greeter job; or helping the single (or married) mom that’s working three jobs already, just barely making ends meet, realize there is a way to make that much and more by working far less hours; or helping that wife that would like to contribute on those expensive items – like new carpet, a lawnmower, the second car, the kid’s college fund, or the basic needs in an ever changing economy; or the everyday person, man or woman, that enjoys helping other people get what they want, helping them decorate their world and get some extra cash in the process…they all matter to the person whom she’s able to connect with, and they are all situations in which she makes a difference!

From the beginning of her speaking all those years ago, to the privilege of being Ms.Wheelchair Kentucky in 2001, to the impact of empowering your team or organization, LaDonna’s passion is following God’s plan for her life and touching lives at every opportunity!  Her positive outlook and attitude are contagious and inspiring!

Enthusiasm…

Enthusiasm…
The Magic of Thinking Success by Dr. David J Schwartz- a great book

To make enthusiasm work miracles for you, remember:
•Enthusiasm is your psychological ignition system. People succeed in direct proportion to their ability to turn on their enthusiasm.

•Enthusiasm works “miracles in selling, in business, in sports, and in rearing a family. Success and enthusiasm go together.

•Believe in what you do and enthusiasm follows. If you don’t believe something is right, don’t do it.

•Put enthusiasm in what you say. Your sound is more important than the words you speak. Put spirit in your voice. Let your voice say, “I am glad to talk to you.”

•Smile and you manufacture enthusiasm. Remember, you can’t be angry or depressed or worried when you smile. And when you smile, other people like you.

•Knowledge builds enthusiasm. The more you know about something, the more enthusiastic you become.

•Help others feel enthusiastic. It makes you even more enthusiastic.

Make it your best week yet!

How to Finish Strong for 2010

It’s been a fast, challenging and for some a painful year.

And, if you’re tired of struggling, fearful of the current economic crisis, and paralyzed by the pace of change, I’ve got a great way for you to take control of your future and finish the year off with a bang.

September 22rd is an important date as it marks the 100 day countdown of 2010. With that in mind, I want to thrown down a challenge, I want to provide you with an opportunity to redeem yourself and turn things around for the better and I mean much better.

You see, one thing we all have in common is that we all love a challenge!

For some it could be a goal that puts you to the test, an obstacle that says you can’t beat me, a belief system that is begging for a breakthrough, or even a mountain that just dares you to climb it.

Whatever it is, you’re attitude should be BRING IT ON, as there’s nothing quite like a good old fashioned challenge to see what you’re made, to push the boundaries and tests your limits as it is ONLY when we overcome these trials that we get to reap the sweetest rewards.

My colleague, Gary Ryan Blair, otherwise know as The Goals Guy has put together what I believe to be the most comprehensive approach to goal setting and performance enhancement.

Gary has been working with executives and employees at Coca-Cola, American Express, IBM, Starbucks, Time Warner, Disney, and many more teaching them exactly how set and reach their goals – if he can do it for them, he can do it for you.

Many of the top leaders in just about every field call on Gary when trying to develop and execute on certain goals. It is so much easier when you know HOW to create a workable plan, and can create accountability and that is where he excels.

Back to your goals and the challenge. Gary has created a powerful program that will show you how to make maximum performance gains in the shortest time possible. It is very effective and very affordable.

I think it is a no brainer if are serious about making changes and finishing the year strong than you simply must check out this program.

It’s called the 100 Day Finish Strong Challenge and it begins on September 22rd, which just so happens to be the final 100 days of the year.

Learn more here:

It is a downloadable video and audio program where Gary literally coaches you towards achieving your goals — the RIGHT WAY!

I recommend the program, I recommend that you download the Special Report, and more importantly I recommend Gary.

So make sure to go to The 100 Day Finish Strong Challenge at:

And put yourself and your family in the best possible position. Also, make sure to watch his video.

Regards,

Warren Wandling
